Yard Act have been named in a new study as this summer’s most-booked new music act on the European festival circuit.The annual study, which is conducted by the European talent exchange programme ESNS Exchange, sheds a light on “the most promising European emerging acts of the moment”.Yard Act have come out on top of this year’s study, racking up 11 bookings at ESNS Exchange-affiliated festivals in 2022.The four-piece are three ahead of Ukrainian rapper Alyona Alyona, Priya Ragu and Wet Leg, who have eight European festival bookings each.

SXSW Festival has announced another wave of acts for its 2022 edition.The annual music, film and media event is set to return to Austin, Texas between March 14-20 after its 2020 and 2021 festivals were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.Yesterday (January 26) it was announced that Wet Leg will take to the stage at SXSW ’22 ahead of releasing their anticipated, self-titled debut album on April 8.Other additions to the bill include Big Joanie, Pom Pom Squad, Pillow Queens, Balming Tiger, Cassandra Jenkins, La Doña, Mélat and many more. The Great Escape has announced the first 50 acts set to play next year’s festival in Brighton.All those acts will also play the annual First Fifty mini-showcase event in November, taking place across eight venues in East London, as well as at an extra show in Brighton itself.

More details have been announced about the line-up for the online edition of The Great Escape that is taking place next month. More than 150 acts will feature across a series of online showcases on 13 and 14 May.Spotlight artists among the line-up include Alfie Templeman, Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Genesis Owusu, Remi Wolf and Priya Ragu, while Alexander 23, Jensen Mcrae, Robert Grace, Sir Chloe, Tayo Sound, Teeks, The Lottery Winners and Peach Tree Rascals have all also been added to the bill.
