Phoebe Bridgers must sit for a deposition in the defamation lawsuit that’s been filed against her by the producer Chris Nelson.In a ruling issued on Tuesday (March 29) a Los Angeles judge agreed with Nelson that the deposition would be necessary before deciding whether or not the lawsuit could be dismissed.“Because the subjective belief of [Bridgers] is critical, the defendant herself is necessarily the primary, if not sole, source of evidence regarding actual malice,” Judge Curtis A. Kin said, according to court documents shared by Billboard.In October 2020 Bridgers directed her followers on Instagram to a thread written by her friend Emily Bannon, which Nelson has claimed was defamatory.Nelson subsequently sued the singer for defamation and is currently seeking $3.8million (£2.8million) in damages.

Phoebe Bridgers has written a heartfelt essay for the 10th anniversary edition of Bon Iver‘s second album, ‘Bon Iver, Bon Iver’.Justin Vernon’s critically acclaimed LP, which featured the singles ‘Calgary’, ‘Holocene’, ‘Towers’ and ‘Beth/Rest’, was released in June 2011.To celebrate the anniversary, an expanded vinyl reissue of ‘Bon Iver, Bon Iver’ has now been released featuring five songs from Vernon and S. The Killers have shared seven new reimagined versions of songs from their 2021 album ‘Pressure Machine’ on the deluxe version of the record, which is out today (March 25).The expanded version, which you can listen to below, features four different versions of closing track ‘The Getting By’, plus a new version of ‘Runaway’ and two further takes on ‘West Hills’.‘The Getting By II’ is much more rousing and characteristic of the band than the original while other versions are even more downbeat than the 2021 cut.‘Running Horses II’ is also more upbeat than the previous version of the track and no longer features Phoebe Bridgers.Opening track ‘West Hills’ meanwhile now features a reworked gospel version of the song.Last year, The Killers revealed to NME that they’re already at work on a “heavier” new record – and that this one is likely to feature all four members.The band’s previous record ‘Imploding The Mirage‘ came out in 2020 and saw guitarist Dave Keuning sit out the recording sessions to enjoy some time at home at San Diego instead.

Glastonbury 2022 go on sale this evening (March 24), with ticket and coach packages available to registered fans.This year’s festival, which will be held from June 22-26, has already sold out after deposits that were initially paid for Glastonbury 2020 were rolled over for a second year following the cancellation of the 2021 festival.Anyone who had paid a deposit had until March 7 to pay off the remaining balance (£230 + £5 booking fee).However, any returned tickets will be available here tonight as part of a package that involves travel to and from the festival by coach.The sale will be limited to 2 tickets per transaction, to reflect the limited number of seats available per coach. As the defamation case brought against Phoebe Bridgers by recording engineer Chris Nelson continues to work its way through the courts, her lawyers have called a deposition request by Nelson’s team “nothing more than thinly veiled harassment”.In his lawsuit last year, Nelson claimed that, in October 2020, Bridgers made a number of allegations of abuse and misconduct against him on Instagram, while also directing her followers to his ex-girlfriend’s account on the platform where further allegations had been made.He denies all the claims made against him, and the lawsuit argues that Bridgers “intentionally used her high-profile public platform on Instagram to publish false and defamatory statements regarding [Nelson] in order to destroy his reputation”.In response, Bridgers filed a sworn declaration last month, in which she stated: “I believe that the statements I made in my Instagram story are true. My statements were made based on my personal knowledge, including statements I personally heard Mr Nelson make, as well as my own observations.
