Grey's Anatomy fans are in for a treat as the show welcomes back a beloved character after an incredible 17-year hiatus. The upcoming 21st season will see the return of series favourite Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo, and her love interest Nick Marsh, portrayed by Scott Speedman.

Speedman will now star alongside previously announced cast member Yvonne Strahovski. Inspired by the Robert McCammon novel “Stinger,” the series is said to follow “a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.” Speedman will play James Chenoweth, while Strahovski will star as Maggie Chenoweth.

The audience wants familiarity. The writers get stuck in the consistency of something, and it’s harder, which I always would argue against and say, ‘We have such an incredible fan base. They’re so loyal. They’ll literally come along with us no matter what we do.’ I think it’s okay for Meredith to stop making bad decisions.”
