While this is being billed as Meredith’s farewell episode, Ellen is scheduled to reprise the role in the season 19 finale in May and she’ll continue to provide voiceover work.

During the goodbye party, she told her co-workers that she would be back for visits. “I’m only going to Boston and you know I’ll probably be here next week,” she said.
