The show was inspired by the Robert McCammon novel “Stinger.” It was originally picked up straight-to-series at the NBCUniversal-backed streaming service in 2022 and debuted in October 2024. Per the official logline, the show followed “a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.” The lead cast for the series included Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, Chaske Spencer, Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, and Luciano Leroux.
