Emmerdale's Mary 'actually Vanessa's mum' as fans twig huge Rhona DNA twist
Emmerdale's Rhona Goskirk could be in for yet another shock in upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, as fans have predicted her mum could also be the mother of someone very close to her in the Dales.Mary Goskirk entered the soap in recent weeks as she moved in with her daughter Rhona, and seemed eager to criticise her every move and her relationship with Marlon Dingle. With Marlon suffering a stroke after proposing to Rhona, it looks like Mary is stepping up to be a grandmother to April - but the family could be in for another big shock.Fans have seen Mary chatting to Vanessa Woodfield in a much nicer manner than she talks to her own daughter Rhona. And they think there's a striking resemblance between them - with some even suggesting that Mary could be Vanessa's mum as well as Rhona's. Taking to Twitter, one eagle-eyed fan wrote: "What if Rhona’s mum on #Emmerdale actually turns out to be Vanessa’s too? Seems much more like her." Someone else echoed: "Why are scenes with Vanessa and Mary SO much better than scenes between Rhona and Mary? feel like they’ve brought Louise Jameson in as the wrong characters mum!"As a third viewer said: "It’s the way they even look like they could be related!", with someone else agreeing: "I know they could easily be mother and daughter! It’s like Mary’s the mum Vanessa always wanted!"However, others simply wanted to see Vanessa's mum finally cast - with one writing: "If they ever decide to bring Vanessa’s mum in, I will accept nobody else but Susie Blake.

Emmerdale character, Marlon Dingle, will see his life change forever as he is rushed to hospital after suffering a stroke. The storyline, which Mark described as “traumatic”, presented the actor with some challenges as he aimed to portray the experience as accurately as possible. In order to ensure the scenes are as true as real stroke survivors’ experiences, Mark worked closely with the Stroke Association. He also had the help of real life stroke survivor Nick Hounsfield as he navigated the scenes.Speaking to Express.co.uk and other media outlets, Mark explained that each stroke is different and can present itself in various ways.Mark said: "Each stroke is profoundly different.“For the story we're telling, there will be 99 other people who say, that is not what happened to me.“You can only tell the one story and hope that you represent faithfully what happens afterwards, and what people will have to go through.“That is where the real responsibility lies.”Speaking of the support from The Stroke Association, Mark continued: “It was extraordinarily helpful.“I’m constantly asking the medical professionals, 'can I do this? What can I do with my good hand at this point?'“It's details that are going to sell the story to people who have been through it.The research has been everything."Mark also had help from a stroke specialist who was working on set with him and the actor has described as “fantastic”.While preparing for the scenes, Mark also had Zoom meetings with doctors and speech therapists who work with the Stroke Association.Mark said the stroke was a “distressing” and “traumatic” experience for Marlon. But he highlighted that the incident will inspire Marlon and his partner, Rhona Goskirk, to “get their lives back.”The TV
