Man charged following crash that killed former mayoress of Bolton Gay Wharton

Bolton. Assad Hussain, 23, of Maplewood Gardens, Halliwell has been been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday November 16).Police were called to reports of a collision involving a black Audi and a pedestrian in Chorley New Road, at 12.05pm, on Friday November 13.The pedestrian, 58-year-old Gay Wharton died at the scene.
