Bolton mayor rewards hundreds of heroic keyworkers who battled Covid-19

manchestereveningnews.co.ukHundreds of heroes who have helped Bolton get through the coronavirus crisis have been recognised by the Mayor for their contribution to the cause.The Mayor of Bolton has awarded more than 300 certificates of recognition to key workers, charities and businesses across the borough for their efforts.Due to social distancing measures still being in place as the lockdown slowly eases, she was not able to hand the certificates over to many of the heroes.But Cllr Linda Thomas, who was made the mayor in May, was able to visit her chosen charities Urban Outreach and Backup as well as a Sainsbury’s store.She said: “As we are living through such a surreal time, I felt it was important to recognise all those who have gone that extra mile in putting.
