Lana Del Rey‘s father Rob Grant has shared a second preview of his debut album – listen to ‘Poetry Of Wind And Waves’ below.As announced last month, Grant will release debut album ‘Lost At Sea’ on June 9 via Decca Records. The album will feature Lana herself – real name Lizzie Grant – on the album’s title track and another song called ‘Hollywood Bowl’, while its first preview came in the form of ‘Setting Sail On A Distant Horizon’.Discussing its follow-up, ‘Poetry Of Wind And Waves’, Grant said in a statement: “The ‘Poetry Of Wind and Waves’ is a song about the rhythm of the ocean… and the hypnotic beauty of the waves as they rise and fall. When I composed this piece I was in the studio in LA, playing a beautiful concert grand..The studio was intimate and dark with soft ambient light.“I imagined myself alone on a beach with a gentle wind blowing and the sound of the waves whispering around me.

Lana Del Rey is currently beating Depeche Mode in the race for this week’s UK Number One album.The singer-songwriter released her ninth studio record, ‘Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd’, last Friday (March 24). That same day saw the arrival of Depeche Mode’s 15th full-length effort, ‘Memento Mori’.According to the latest Official Charts update, Del Rey is on course to bag her sixth UK Number One album with ‘…Ocean Blvd’.

But before she did that, Swift gave Del Rey’s Friday release, “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” all the “promo” that a fellow artist could ask for, calling it “brilliant” and urging the approximately 60,000 fans gathered at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium to stream or buy the new album.

Because absolutely nothing could surpass the mic drop of her placing the sole billboard announcing the new project in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the hometown of a fairly recent ex-boyfriend, in what could only be seen as a clever combination of extreme advertising narrowcasting and baller performance art. But if “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.” had to come in as a runner-up to that, it’s a very, very, very close second. It might even count as her masterpiece to date, among her non-billboard-related work. The word “might” is advisable because claims to that kind of superiority can only be made after a lot of time and repeat listens have passed, of course, and “Ocean Blvd.” is such a dense set of songs to take in that your immediate response to its 16 songs might be to rise for a standing ovation… and then think that maybe you’ll need a week to rest before you settle in for a second and third listen, this time with a whole Internet’s worth of Cliff Notes. The album is likely to wear you out — at least it will if you’re consuming it as confessional songwriting, in bulk, and not just aural wallpaper — but it’s a happy exhaustion.
