Lightning Seeds have extended their ‘Greatest Hits Tour’ into 2025 with a new 11-date run of UK shows in October.The tour followed the release of their ‘best of’ compilation ‘Tomorrow’s Here Today: 35 Years Of Lightning Seeds’, which was released last year. Paul Heaton has announced a huge show in Sheffield with Lightning Seeds and Shed Seven – find all the details below.The singer-songwriter and former Housemartins frontman will headline the city’s Bramall Lane stadium – home to his beloved Sheffield United FC – on Sunday May 25, 2025, marking one of his biggest solo headline gigs to date.Heaton is set to perform on stage alongside his live band and special guest singer Rianne Downey. Paul Heaton has added extra dates to his forthcoming UK tour, and confirmed that Lightning Seeds will be joining him as special guests for one of them.The performances will all take place later this year, and come in support of The Housemartins and Beautiful South legend’s new album ‘The Mighty Several’.Set for release on October 11 – and available for pre-order here – the project has been produced by Ian Broudie and follows his 2022 LP ‘N.K-pop‘ with Jacqui Abbott.Originally, the tour dates were set to kick off in Bridlington on November 29, and make stops in Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham, Newcastle and more, before concluding with two back-to-back shows at London’s Eventim Apollo on December 10 and 11.Now, the tour has been extended as Heaton has added three extra shows to the schedule. These include a stop at the P&J Live venue in Aberdeen on Friday, December 13, and a new gig at the Civic Halls in Wolverhampton.

Paul Heaton has announced his new Ian Broudie-produced album ‘The Mighty Several’ and has shared a new single ‘Fish ‘N’ Chip Supper’.‘The Mighty Several’ is set for release on October 11 – which is available for pre-order here – and follows his 2022 LP ‘N.K-pop‘ with Jacqui Abbott. The Housemartins and Beautiful South legend’s upcoming album was recorded at Blueprint Studios in Salford and was produced by Broudie of the Lightning Seeds.The album is comprised of 12 tracks, with some featuring special guests such as Rianne Downey (Heaton’s regular live vocalist), Yvonne Shelton and Danny Muldoon. The featured artists are all pictured alongside Heaton on the album’s artwork.

The Lightning Seeds’ Ian Broudie has spoken to NME about the band’s forthcoming greatest gits compilation ‘, their celebrated comeback and his work on the first Zutons album in 16 years.The 20-track compilation ‘Tomorrow’s Here Today: 35 Years Of The Lightning Seeds’ will be released on October 4, 2024, as a non-chronological collection of the band’s finest moments – taking in huge ‘90s hits such as ‘Pure’, ‘The Life Of Riley’, ‘Sense’, ‘Lucky You’ and ‘Marvellous’, more recent tracks including ‘Emily Smiles’ and choice singles and album tracks such as ‘All I Want’ and ‘The Nearly Man’ from 1990s debut album ‘Cloudcuckooland’ and ‘My Best Day’ from 1993’s ‘Jollification’.The release will be accompanied by a UK headline tour in November and December 2024, following on from this year’s support tour with Madness which kicks off on December 1.Meanwhile, Broudie has recently produced the long-awaited new Zutons’ album and released his first book, also called Tomorrow’s Here Today, which explores in anecdotal form his history on Liverpool’s ‘80s underground scene alongside Echo & The Bunnymen and The Teardrop Explodes, as well as the loss of his brother Robert to suicide in 2006.“It’s become my favourite time,” Broudie told NME of The Lightning Seeds’ return with last year’s seventh album ‘See You In The Stars’, now with his son Riley as manager and Lightning Seeds guitarist. “I love my band, I love playing live, which I never used to like, and I feel like we’re really good.
