Inside Eamonn Holmes and Anthea Turner's bitter feud - 'toe' swipe to quitting show
Good Morning Britain was a thing, presenters Anthea Turner and Eamonn Holmes hosted ITV's pre-cursor GMTV.Bringing smiles to viewers' faces during the week, the two hosts appeared alongside each other from 1994 with broadcaster Fiona Phillips in tow.But although matters seemed rather pleasant on-screen, things were certainly brewing behind the scenes which caused Anthea to make an abrupt departure from the show two years later. What was to follow was a bitter feud that lasted a number of years. But as Anthea celebrates her 62nd birthday, Daily Star has taken a look at what caused the pair to have a rift and whether they are on good terms now.Following her role on BBC's Blue Peter, Anthea left children's television and joined ITV's GMTV in 1994, but she sensationally quit two years later in 1996.According to reports at the time, Anthea and Eamonn's off-screen relationship was frosty and he often made rude remarks about her.Talking to a newspaper publication at the time he claimed Anthea was demanding and nicknamed her "Princess Tippy Toes".He also accused her of being vain and obsessed with her image while reportedly telling TV bosses to sack her or he would leave the show.A year after her departure, Anthea broke her silence on the situation. She explained: "I never was and never wanted to be a rival to Eamonn."Maybe he didn’t understand that.

'Could have cost us our jobs' Eamonn Holmes reflects on 'deadly serious' feud with co-star
Eamonn Holmes recalled a feud with Anthea Turner which saw him splashed across the headlines and fearing that both might lose their careers. The former This Morning star revealed all in a recent interview."I was on the front pages of the papers because of a falling-out I had with Anthea Turner - I called her 'Princess Tippy Toes'," Eamonn admitted."It’s laughable now, but at the time it was deadly serious for both of us."It could have cost both of us our jobs, but the station probably secretly relished the publicity," he told The Telegraph. He added that he and Anthea quickly made up and are now good friends - but that didn't happen before the war of words had descended into a scandal. The pair first came to blows while they were hosting GMTV together for two years in the mid 1990s.Anthea believed she had been the victim of sexist stereotypes for being too "ambitious" - a trait she claimed men would never be accused of in a derogatory way."If I said [I was ambitious], I was made out to be a ruthless person who would walk over anybody to get where I wanted," she stated to The Sun."It would be said that I was hormonal, or I was stamping my feet."She added: "Yet if [a man is] ambitious, we think, 'What a guy'."You’d never hear anyone say that about Eamonn or Phillip Schofield.

‘Hope this isn't the end of my career!' Fiona Phillips details menopause 'brain fog' fears
ITV presenter says her day-to-day life is plagued by fears for her TV career, as she struggles to do the things she once did with ease. In an interview with The Mirror this month, the 61-year-old didn't hold back, admitting that she fears for her "whole life", having recently ran out of a supermarket after suffering from a panic attack."I've cried a thousand rivers in the past few weeks and I've got nothing to be sad about," Fiona explained."I've been fearing for my sanity and am scared to do things I've been doing with ease for years."They call it brain fog; I don't know what I'm talking about half the time."The ex-ITV presenter went on to share that she can no longer take on any TV gigs due to her severe battle with anxiety, which has left her feeling"scared of everything".And though Fiona insisted she still intends to do everything she once did in her professional career, it's almost as if her body and brain are unwilling to cooperate. Even when her 21-year-old son, Nathaniel Frizell, returns home from the army at the weekends, the Canterbury-born media personality expressed how her brain is quickly filled with stress as she "worries" about the food she will cook for her offspring. Fiona has been married to This Morning producer Martin Frizell since 1997.Together, they share two children: Mackenzie, 19, and Nathanial, 21.Due to the severity of her health condition, the Canterbury-born media personality has stopped working entirely. "The fear takes over," she added."I hope to God this isn't the end of my career."Despite having had her driver's licence for more than 40 years, Fiona has also given up driving regularly and will only sit behind the wheel of a vehicle in urgent matters. The mother-of-two, who presented GMTV
