Fury of the Gods” actor Djimon Hounsou confessed that Hollywood life isn’t all it’s cut out to be. After acting in the industry for more than 30 years, Hounsou revealed he felt slighted by the Hollywood pay and said he’s faced challenges with money.“I’m still struggling to try to make a dollar!” he expressed during an interview with The Guardian. “I’ve come up in the business with some people who are absolutely well off and have very little of my accolades. So I feel cheated, tremendously cheated, in terms of finances and in terms of the workload as well.”Hounsou spoke out about how he had to fight for the paycheck he felt he deserved and was continuously disrespected.“I still have to prove why I need to get paid,” he told the media outlet.

Zack Snyder’s fantasy sci-fi epic “Rebel Moon,” once a “Star Wars” pitch reconfigured to be an original project, wasn’t exactly well-received upon its release last December (read our review). Trounced by critics, the film has a dismal 21% Rotten Tomatoes score, and even the generally more lenient audience score is negative.

It’s Christmas day and Zack Snyder and Netflix have decided to give you a treat: the new teaser for his next upcoming film, “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver,” the follow up to his ‘Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire.” It’s a generous move given that “A Child Of Fire, the first installment in his space opera was hit with scathing reviews when it debuted earlier this month (read our review), but one supposes, Snyder is no grinch, doesn’t mind and wants to keep the drum beating for his new series (it’s on our list of the 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2024, so let’s hope the ‘Scargiver’ is much better. Having already made a sizeable TV mark with popular franchises like “Stranger Things” and “Squid Games,” Netflix obviously wants its own in-house epic “Avatar” or “Dune” sci-fi blockbuster franchise for the cinema (irony not lost here). Having made a home for director Zack Snyder, post-short-lived DC Universe, with “Army Of The Dead,” they’re clearly banking on the filmmaker’s latest effort, “Rebel Moon”—a big blustery and fabulist space opera in the vein of “Star Wars”— and to be the next big thing.

Zack Snyder’s forthcoming sci-fi space opera “Rebel Moon” is a project he’s been kicking around for over ten years. It started out as an R-rated “Star Wars” film idea in 2012 that he pitched to Kathleen Kennedy.

Originally pitched as a new “Star Wars” tale in the days when Disney was taking new Lucasfilm pitches, Zack Snyder took a no or a maybe, and made it his own with his upcoming film, “Rebel Moon.” From those nascent beginnings, seeing if Kathleen Kennedy was interested, Snyder crafted a big space opera of his own and took it to his new home at Netflix where he’s already set up shop with his zombie franchise, “Army Of The Dead.” Snyder’s ethos seems to be go big or go home so for “Rebel Moon” he did just that, taking one big movie and splitting it into two, “Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire,” which comes out this year in December and “Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver” which is now set to arrive in April 2024.

Based on the popular series of PlayStation racing video games and the real-life story of Jann Mardenborough, a teenage gamer who aspires to be an actual race car driver, the action-packed film explores the terrifying journey one young make makes to go from gamer to racer. In real life, Mardenborough participated in the Gran Turismo Academy competition, beating 90,000 other participants to become the tournament's third and youngest champion. He was rewarded with the opportunity to represent Nissan in the Dubai 24-Hour race, and he went on to win numerous Nissan events and make a living as a professional race car driver. Archie Madekwe takes on the role of Mardenborough, following the racer's footsteps through GT Academy and onto the racetrack. Djimon Hounsou plays the role of Jann's father, Steve Mardenborough, alongside Geri Halliwell and Daniel Puig, who portray Jann's mother Lesley and his brother, respectively.Orlando Bloom turns the marketing charm up to 11 as Danny Moore, a motorsport marketing executive based on GT Academy founder Darren Cox.

Blomkamp, whose notable directing credits include “District 9” and “Elysium,” departs from his typical science fiction subject matter to take on the sports racing film. Based on a true story, “Gran Turismo” follows a young teenager who’s obsessed with playing the racing video game and gradually takes his controller skills onto a real racetrack with hopes to become a professional race car driver.
