Peterborough United manager one week before the FA Cup fifth round tie against Manchester City.The son of legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex resigned via a phone call with club chief Darragh MacAnthony on Sunday.It came after Peterborough suffered a 1-0 defeat in the Championship to Derby County on Saturday, which left the side without a single win over the last two months.And with his side second from bottom in the table and five points from safety, the 50-year-old decided to call time on his third spell with the club.Ferguson re-joined Peterborough two years ago before guiding the side to an impressive second-place finish in League One last season.But things have been far from straightforward this season, having won just five matches out of 31 this season.And Peterborough announced their manager’s resignation with a brief statement on Sunday night.It read: "Peterborough United can confirm that the co-owners have accepted the resignation of manager Darren Ferguson following a phone call made by Darren to Darragh MacAnthony on Sunday."Ferguson’s decision to walk away came after he openly criticised his side’s display against Derby.Do you think Darren Ferguson made the right decision to step-down?
