1 after impressing in the pre-season win over Derby County. United won 2-1 at Pride Park thanks to goals from Tahith Chong and Facundo Pellistri, but it was Heaton who caught the eye in his 45-minute run-out in the first half.
He made two excellent saves and was a commanding and vocal presence in what was a young United side. With De Gea yet to return to pre-season training and Henderson not in the squad, Heaton played the first half and was replaced by Lee Grant at half-time.
