Hosting the special event at the American Bar, Variety recognized leading man Brendan Fraser and director Darren Aronofsky for their work on the psychological drama, which focuses on his character, Charlie, 'a reclusive 600-pound man trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter', according to CNN.The lead-up to the theatrical release in December has been an emotional ride for Fraser, who was brought to tears after the world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in September, and then nearly shed more appreciative tears again at the BFI London Film Festival last week.
