The Cure have shared details of a new charity band t-shirt that provides support for Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion of the country.Blue-and-yellow-coloured t-shirts bearing the band’s logo are now available to purchase for £20 here. The hues reflect the colours of the Ukrainian flag.All net proceeds will go to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), a UN agency mandated to aid and protect refugees.

Sir Bob Geldof fronted a star-studded fundraising concert for Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian invasion, repeating his mantra of ‘what’s so funny about peace, love and understanding’ throughout the emotional evening.The Night for Ukraine was held at North London’s Roundhouse on Wednesday, March 9, with the funds raised donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) appeal to raise money and aid for those fleeing Ukraine. The fundraiser is reminiscent of the famous Live Aid benefit concert that the Boomtown Rats singer organised in 1985 in order to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia.

The Pretenders‘ Chrissie Hynde has announced a UK tour where she will sing songs from Bob Dylan’s extensive back catalogue, as well as some other favourites.The tour announcement comes weeks after Hynde released ‘Standing In The Doorway: Chrissie Hynde Sings Bob Dylan’, made up of nine covers of Dylan’s songs including ‘Murder Most Foul’ and ‘Every Grain of Sand’.“A few weeks into lockdown last year, [Pretenders bandmate James Walbourne] sent me the new Dylan track ‘Murder Most Foul’. Listening to that song completely changed everything for me.

The Pretenders‘ Chrissie Hynde has shared details of a new Bob Dylan covers album that she recorded largely over text.‘Standing In The Doorway: Chrissie Hynde Sings Bob Dylan’ comprises nine renditions of Dylan’s songs, released via BMG on May 21 – a few days before the icon’s 80th birthday.Hynde made the record “almost entirely by text message” with her Pretenders bandmate James Walbourne who, according to a press release, would record an initial idea on his phone and send it to Hynde to add her vocal before the tracks were mixed by Tchad Blak.Speaking about how the album came together and its inspiration, Hynde said: “A few weeks into lockdown last year, James sent me the new Dylan track ‘Murder Most Foul’.
