After an additional day of bargaining, the Motion Picture Editors Guild reached a preliminary deal with the studios.

The Editors Guild (IATSE Local 700) will have a changing of the guard next year, as Scott George will replace Cathy Repola as National Executive Director.

Carolyn Giardina With negotiations underway for a new three-year Basic Agreement between IATSE and AMPTP, the International Cinematographers Guild (Local 600)c—cthe largest of the 13 IATSE Locals that work under this contract — has reached a tentative deal on its local-specific issues for its camera and publicist members, according to a Wednesday night memo obtained by Variety. Meanwhile, Motion Picture Editors Guild (Local 700) begins its member-specific negotiations today.

This marks the third time the brothers have taken the “SNL” stage. Their latest album, “The Album,” featuring the upcoming single “Waffle House,” is set to be released May 12. Coming up, Quinta Brunson and Lil Yachty will host a dual debut as the show returns on April 1. The creator, executive producer, writer and star of ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” will make her hosting debut with Yachty performing as the guest for the first time. Lil Yachty ‘s new work, “Let’s Start Here,” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s top rock and alternative charts.

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor The post-production crew at NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” unanimously ratified their first-ever union contract, a deal that will offer immediate pay boosts for all members of the unit and will avert a strike deadline the members had set for April 1st. The vote took place during a Wednesday night meeting of the crew and Editors Guild representatives. The contract now goes into effect immediately and runs until the summer of 2026. “The solidarity and bravery of this crew are just so impressive,” said Cathy Repola, National Executive Director of the Editors Guild. “They fought not just to improve their own working lives; they have also set a standard that will benefit all those who follow in their footsteps at this TV comedy institution. It was an honor to work with them on reaching this significant agreement.”

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor The post-production editors behind “Saturday Night Live”  have reached a tentative agreement with NBC, averting the strike deadline of April 1. If ultimately ratified by the crew made up of 12 to 20 workers, the three-year deal will result in pay increases of up to 60% over the life of the contract and deliver immediate pay boosts. The contract will offer workers healthcare benefits, ratification bonuses, guarantees of employer-paid meals, transportation and hotel accommodations for employees working long shifts with short turnarounds. Sources close to the negotiations confirmed that a tentative deal has been reached.

There will be no strike at Saturday Night Live.

Editors of Saturday Night Live’s pre-filmed segments are threatening to go on strike unless NBCUniversal bargains a fair contract for them with the Motion Picture Editors Guild, IATSE Local 700. NBCUniversal, however, reached out to the guild tonight to offer new dates for talks that could avert a walkout.
