Person struck by train as emergency services race to scene with ScotRail services delayed

hit by a train in Fife. Emergency crews were called to the line between Inverkeithing and Kirkcaldy shortly before 7pm on Sunday.

All trains on the route, which also serves Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen, were temporarily suspended as British Transport Police officers dealt with the tragic incident.

It is not known if the person was injured.ScotRail urged train users to expect delays and cancellations.They tweeted: “Sadly, a person has been struck by a train between Inverkeithing and Kirkcaldy."The line has been closed between these stations in both directions.“We’re working closely with Network Rail Scotland and the emergency services.
