A pensioner has been left devastated after a cruel crook conned her out of more than £20,000 in a computer scam. The 73-year-old has now 'lost all trust in people' after the heartless scam saw her bank account rinsed.
A swindler convinced the pensioner to download a programme that allowed them access to her computer before they drained her bank account of £21,000.
The victim’s daughter, who asked not to be identified, said the loss has been more than just financial, the Daily Record reports.
Issuing a warning to others, she said the callous fraud had left her mum distraught. She said: “My mum is mortified and ashamed that she fell for it.
