Police have launched a murder probe after a 72-year-old pensioner died following an altercation between two dog walkers. Northamptonshire officers said they were alerted following reports the pensioner had been assaulted at about 4.20pm on Wednesday.
The elderly man died close to where he had been attacked near to the village of Roade in Northampton. Paramedics and bystanders had desperately tried to save his life.
Police later arrested a 27-year-old man from Northampton on suspicion of murder in connection with the attack. He remains in police custody.
