Paul Scholes insists he never came close to leaving Manchester United but was once asked whether he would be interested in joining Inter Milan.
The former midfielder was one of the best of his generation and will go down as one of United’s greatest ever players after an illustrious Old Trafford career.
In 19 seasons with the Red Devils he won 11 Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues, and three FA Cups. Along with the likes of Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, Scholes is one of only a few players who can say they played their whole career with the same club.
And the boyhood United fan insists he would never have wanted to leave unless Sir Alex Ferguson told him he no longer wanted him.
