Paul McCartney’s 'Hey Jude' Handwritten Lyrics Sold for $910,000 in Virtual Auction

Julien’s Auctions held its Beatlemania auction event of the year, "All Beatles," virtually on Friday (April 10), and featured more than 250 items from the iconic band, including never-before-seen memorabilia, guitars and instruments, autographed items, rare vinyl, obscure licensed material and more.This year, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Julien’s Auctions staff accepted digital real-time bids via phone and online from remote locations.The highest selling item was Paul McCartney’s handwritten lyrics to "Hey Jude," used in studio for its recording at London's Trident Studios in July 1968.

It sold for $910,000, well over its $160,000 estimate.In addition, The Beatles' Cow Palace concert drumhead sold for $200,000, John Lennon and Yoko.
