Park submerged in water after River Irwell burst its banks in Ramsbottom

Video footage shows waterlogged fields at Nuttall Park, near to the town centre, after the river spilled over this afternoon.Heavy rainfall has also left the park's children's play area and bowling green under water.The River Irwell runs alongside the park, and a flood warning is currently in place for the area.The Environment Agency has confirmed the river levels are climbing rapidly in the area, currently standing at 2.05m at Ramsbottom Weir as of 3.45pm.When the waters reach 2.30m, 'minor flooding' could begin, the authority warns.James Daly, the MP for Bury North, visited the park on Wednesday afternoon.
