Panicking mum who 'left baby in pram on packed train' sparks rush hour chaos

Sign up today for the best stories straight to your inboxAn absent minded-mum caused rush-hour mayhem when she got off a busy commuter train and then realised she’d left her baby behind.The woman got off the train at Peckham Rye Station in south London at around 5pm yesterday,September 8, before realising she had left the child in a pram on the busy South Eastern Railway service.Seconds after the doors closed she realised her mistake, but it was too late.

She used one of the station’s emergency help points and managed to speak to South Eastern staff who held the train up at the next station, Nunhead, and rescued the tot.Station staff then looked after the tiny stowaway while its mother caught.
