Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

A paedophile who carried out a 'repulsive' sex assault on a little girl 30 years ago and who decades later indecently assaulted another nine-year-old girl has been jailed for 13 years.

Paul Gandy, 59, of Rydal Road, Haslingden, appeared for sentencing following a prior conviction by a jury at Bolton Crown on three sex offences.
