Over £100k raised for orphaned children after parents killed in 'hit-and-run'

Police confirmed Mohammed Shahdab and Sheikala Razaq, both 39, as the victims of the crash which happened at 5.45pm on June 5.

Donations for the couples' five orphaned children have topped £100,000 in just 24 hours, according to Birmingham Live. Both were travelling on the same motorbike and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police who attended the incident said previously a blue Saab car may have been involved but fled the scene. A 47-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has been released pending further investigation.Officers asked the public not to speculate on the circumstances of the crash, which took place in Birmingham.
