Olympic race walker Tom Bosworth is Team GB's only openly gay male track and field athlete and the 30-year-old has expressed his disappointment that nobody else has felt comfortable enough to do the same in the five years since he came out publicly.
Bosworth got engaged to his now fiance Harry during the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and the athlete has since opened up about his sexuality in an interview with Sky Sports. "What has been really nice is that people who are inside of athletics and outside of athletics have been coming up to me to say 'because of your story, it gave me the confidence to come out to my family or my friends'," he said. "That really means a lot because not everybody has to come out publicly.
