It’s A Sin earned numerous nominations this year, but the show largely lost out, with major wins for stars including Sean Bean as lead actor in Time and Jodie Comer, for leading actress in Help, as well as Big Zuu who took home two golden faces.Alexander was tipped as one of the front runners to be the next Doctor Who, but it was announced before the ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall that Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa would take over the coveted role from Jodie Whittaker.
Ncuti told the PA news agency he could "finally breathe" after he was announced as the new time lord after being secretly cast months ago.The 29-year-old will become the 14th time lord on the popular science fiction show and the first person of colour to play the lead role.
