Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has told Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he must win a trophy this season if he has any chance of keeping his job.
Solskjaer has come under increasing pressure following last Sunday’s 5-0 capitulation against Liverpool at Old Trafford. Though he will be in charge against Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday evening’s kick-off, speculation continues to mount that a replacement is on the cards if results on the pitch don’t improve.
Having assembled a star-studded squad over the past few seasons, Solskjaer is yet to win a major trophy with United and the arrivals of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo in the transfer window means there is no room for error.
