Ofcom bosses are launching a "full and urgent" investigation into David Icke 's coronavirus comments on LondonLive. The notorious conspiracy theorist appeared on the channel at 10pm on Wednesday and sparked outrage by comparing Covid-19 vaccines to "fascism".

It sparked 41 complaints to the watchdog, and earlier today Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden called on Ofcom to launch a probe into the broadcast.

Now they have confirmed they are going ahead with a full investigation. An Ofcom spokesperson told Mirror Online: "We have assessed this programme, and we are concerned that it raises potential issues under our rules. "We are now investigating it as a matter of urgency."
