Odion Ighalo could pave the way for Erling Haaland to join Manchester United. The Nigeria international was the shock signing of the January transfer market after a last-gasp loan deal from Shanghai Shenhua.
After Marcus Rashford suffered a long-term injury, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer demanded a forward signed ahead of the rest of the season.
Not much was expected from Ighalo but he has already shown his class, netting four times for his new club. It has led to calls for United to make his loan permanent.
It would not be the kind of deal Solskjaer is used to making, who has made a point over signing younger players. However, Ighalo's age could actually work out as a positive for the club.
