Nicola Sturgeon has insisted Scots are not being asked to "cancel or change" their Christmas plans as the number of people testing positive for covid continues to rise.

The First Minister used a broadcast interview today to make a fresh plea for people to limit their socialising as much as possible in the run-up to December 25.

It comes as the SNP leader prepares to make her weekly statement on coronavirus to the Scottish Parliament on Tuesday afternoon.
