Nicola Sturgeon introduced the new rules yesterday which come into effect from today across the country. Coverings will now be required in the workplace such as in a canteen.
It comes as 13 people died over the last 24 hour period after returning a positive coronavirus test. The number of cases across Scotland increased yesterday with 1,351 catching the deadly disease which has killed 2,585 people since the start of the pandemic in March.There are currently 51 people in intensive beds throughout the country while 601 people are in hospital after contracting the virus, up 31 on the previous day.On Monday the rules on face coverings will be extended further to corridors and other communal areas.Nicola Sturgeon also confirmed all existing.
