Newborn baby girl with coronavirus believed to be one of UK's youngest patients

A three-week-old baby is believed to be the youngest coronavirus patient in Scotland. The newborn, who is currently being treated in a maternity ward tested positive for Covid-19 and had to be separated from her mum for 15 days.

Little Paton is currently being treated in the maternity unit at University Hospital Wishaw while hooked up to an incubator.

Her mum Tracy McGuire has taken the decision to isolate with her daughter while she is cared for, reports the Daily Record. Speaking to the BBC, Tracy heaped praise on the nurses and doctors putting themselves in harm's way to look after Paton.
