New Trafford area with highest infection rate emerges

The new cases were confirmed by positive tests registered on Sunday, August 22. Over the seven-day period ending August 17, 807 cases were confirmed across the borough – one fewer than the previous week. READ MORE: Latest infection rates across Greater Manchester According to the government’s site, the borough’s current infection rate is 339.7 per 100,000 people.

Urmston West has by far the highest infection rate of any area in the borough standing at 731 per 100,000 people and 51 new cases confirmed in the week ending August 17;
