EXCLUSIVE: Deadline can tell you first that the new Mean Girls movie that Paramount has been prepping for Paramount+ is going theatrical.
The release date is Jan. 12, 2024. There will be a big marketing play here for the film. This is the second time in recent memory that Paramount has changed up a Paramount+ release for the big screen, the last being last fall’s big hit Smile.
The new pic stars Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, Avantika, Christopher Briney, Ashley Park and Bebe Wood.
Arturo Perez and Samantha Jayne are directing the new film, from a script by Fey. Broadway Video’s Lorne Michaels has returned to produce alongside Fey, with Erin David, Caroline Maroney and Micah Frank overseeing for Broadway Video, alongside Eric Gurian and Jeff Richmond for Little Stranger.
