The chilling sound was caught on video by one resident, who shared it on Twitter in the hope of solving the mystery. In the clip, which is directed towards the sky, there are four bangs roughly five seconds apart.
Each noise is followed by a deep rumbling sound reminiscent of an aftershock. There is not yet any official explanation for the disturbing noises, but police have been in contact with the Air Force in case there were fighter jets in the area, Indian Express reports.
