endless selfies we all know should just be captioned “I think I look really pretty in this picture and want everyone to see me” rather than the many creative alternatives.
And let’s not forget all those people we don’t even know, who are often just flung into our feed by Instagram because our algorithm indicates we really want to be influenced by them.Basically I’ve realised I like people far less through the Instagram lens than I do in real life – myself included.
I’ve always felt conflicted about social media, but as much as I despise elements of it, I also feel compelled to be part of it.
I’m conscious to avoid the above – I try never to feel “proud” or “honoured” or to happen to be snapped chuckling at my best angle.
