A mum who lost children in three separate miscarriages due to the abuse of her violent ex-partner is fighting for stricter laws.
Nicola Murray has called on courts to take greater account of the loss of a baby when sentencing abusers. The 43-year-old, said the abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex-partner led to three miscarriages.
After losing son Brodie, the 43-year-old set up Brodie’s Trust to support women who have suffered similar experiences. Nicola of Perthshire, Scotland, has since set up a petition to introduce an unborn victims of violence act – or “Brodie’s Law” – to create an offence to “enable the judiciary to adequately prosecute perpetrators”.
