Mum's sadness as tree in memory of son, 4, stolen from church grounds
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA mum has spoken of her sadness after a tree in memory of her four-year-old son was stolen from church grounds in Openshaw. The 'tree of light and hope' was planted in the grounds of St Clements Church on Ashton Old Road in 2018, a year after Max Rimmer-Chambers tragically died.
The four-year-old passed away in May 2017 when a fireplace surround fell on him. An inquest into his death held the following April heard how he was reaching for a pack of mints at his grandfather’s house when the surround came away from the wall and left him trapped.

Just click here to give it a go. Max's mum Kerrie told the Manchester Evening News that the tree was taken at some point between 9pm on Wednesday (November 22) and early on Thursday morning.
