A tanked-up mum kicked another woman in the head during a boozy row over a cigarette. Kelly Edgecumbe, 25, was spared jail for the “vicious” assault when a judge ruled that locking her up would see her miss the first months of her newborn’s life.
Hull Crown Court heard how Edgecumbe got into an argument over a cigarette with another woman and her partner Jamie Foston. HullLive told how prosecuting barrister Phillip Evans said: "There was an argument with Ms Edgecumbe in the beer garden over a cigarette which got intense. "Ms Edgecumbe demanded an apology from Mr Foston over his remarks during the course of the argument." This continued into the pub lobby where Edgecumbe “struck out” at Foston who retaliated by punching her.
