A blueprint for 1,000 new homes, a hotel, shops and bars in three towers ranging from nine to 25 storeys high at Salford's growing Middlewood Locks scheme has been approved.
Councillors on the city's planning and transportation regulatory panel gave the thumbs up for outline permission to Fairbriar Developments' multi-million-pound plan.
The proposal is for a plot of land at Middlewood Street, where affordable homes will be built opposite the Fusion residential development and three more parcels east of Oldfield Road.
Plans also include a multi-story car park and more than a million square feet of office space. Landscaped green space next to the restored Bolton and Bury Canal, public realm and pedestrian access is also part of the scheme.
