MSPs to look at allowing more fans in grounds to support Scottish football clubs

lockdown. Scottish football is on a high following the historic win against Serbia but domestically many teams are struggling as most are still unable to admit paying spectators to grounds.

Only clubs based in council areas placed tier one of the Scottish Government's lockdown framework are allowed to admit fans - and only in very limited numbers.

League One side Peterhead last month made 29 part-time staff redundant in anticipation of the furlough scheme coming to an end - a decision the team reversed after it was extended.Several other clubs have also expressed fears about their long-term prospects if they grounds don't reopen to fans.Now members of Holyrood's sport committee have written to SNP ministers to demand answers on the future.
