Millions of low-income children don't have the vital equipment they need for home schooling as teaching moves online to help tackle coronavirus, a damning new report has claimed.

More than a third of pupils from the poorest households still do not have access to sufficient devices for online learning, compared to just 11 per cent of high income households.

The research by the Sutton Trust comes after all primary and secondary schools in England and Wales were closed except for vulnerable children and the children of key workers.
