Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta forced through a deal for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, going against Edu who wanted alternatives.The Gunners spent more than £100m on new players over the summer, bringing in three defenders as well as signing Martin Odegaard permanently from Real Madrid.
But the Spaniard also strengthened his options between the posts, with the Englishman signed from Sheffield United for £30m.Ramsdale arrives in north London with two years of Premier League experience - but has been relegated in both of them, with the Blades last year and Bournemouth in 2019/20.
And The Athletic have reported that the 23-year-old was never on the radar of Arsenal’s technical director Edu over the summer.
