Mike Ashley has reaffirmed his commitment to purchasing Derby County but has acknowledged that time is running out.The former Newcastle United owner is reportedly angered by suggestions that he will be walking away from the deal to save the club and has used his PR team to reach out and reassure Rams supporters that his aim is still very much to buy the club out and save it from extinction. One of his aids has spoken to Sportsmail and they have insisted that the retail tycoon is still in the hunt.“It is 100 percent incorrect that Mike Ashley has pulled out of the process," Ashley’s spokesman Keith Bishop said.“Mike is still very interested in the football club.

He is unhappy about suggestions he is pulling out and he is keen to save the club.”However, Bishop conceded that though Ashely’s ambition to take over the club is still strong, time is very much against them.“For it to be saved, everyone is running out of time.

People are not facing up to this time element.”The Midlands club have been in administration since September and though Quantuma - the club's administrators - had stated that they would announce a preferred bidder by December, fans are still awaiting an announcement of such a decision.Do you think Ashley is the right man to take Derby forward?
