Former First Lady Michelle Obama and Pres. Barack Obama have been longtime supporters of Lin-Manuel Miranda and his Tony-winning smash Hamilton.
The Obamas hosted the cast of the smash Broadway musical and local students at the White House for a daylong celebration of the arts in 2016 and on Monday (July 6) Michelle Obama gave the new Hamilton film a huge shout-out. "So thrilled for @Lin_Manuel and the entire #Hamilfilm team!" she tweeted after the movie debuted on Disney+.
