Snow could fall in parts of Greater Manchester as forecasters expect a chilly weekend. A yellow cold health alert has been issued by the UK Health Security Agency across the North West, from 9am today (February 7) until 9am next Tuesday.
The Met Office isn't currently forecasting temperatures below zero this weekend across Greater Manchester. However, forecasters say conditions will actually feel much colder, due to factors such as the wind and humidity.
While Manchester will see highs of up to 6C this afternoon, the Met Office says it will feel like 1C or 2C at the same time.
That pattern is seen across the region and throughout the next 24 hours. The Met Office says conditions could feel as low as -4C this evening in areas such as Oldham, at a time the actual temperature is 2C.
