Met Office issues yellow warning as thunderstorm washout strikes ahead of wet weekend

Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning across areas of Britain with lightning, heavy showers and even some unseasonable hail forecast in the Midlands, South West of England and Wales.

A considerable 90% of Wales is included in the weather warning, which also covers a sizeable area stretching from Birmingham and Bath down to Plymouth in Devon and Salisbury in Wiltshire.READ MORE: Meghan and Harry told to ‘step away’ from royal titles and try alternative nameThe yellow warning is not expected to be lifted until Friday (July 1) evening.BBC forecaster Chris Fawkes said: “What you will notice over the next few days is that the winds will become really quite light and so where those showers form and they are going to be quite widespread, they are going to be slow moving in nature, some of them turning heavy, with some hail and thunder, we might even get some flash flooding from the heaviest of the downpours as well."Chris added: "Temperatures similar to what we have seen over recent days, high teens across western areas, low 20Cs in the warmest spots further east."Looking further ahead, the Met Office predicted that there will be an "unsettled weekend of sunny spells and scattered showers, occasionally heavy, mainly in the north and west".
