direct to your inboxA yellow weather warning has been put in place as Greater Manchester is forecast heavy rain from midnight tonight (Wednesday).The Met Office has issued a flood alert across the region leading to some minor transport disruption and flooding.Following last week's torrential downpour from Storm Christoph thousands of homes had to be evacuated due to rising water levels.Many of the region's rivers reached 'dangerously high levels', the Environment Agency said, with the River Mersey coming 'very close' to breaching its bank.From midnight, heavy rainfall is forecast tonight, carrying through until 10am on Thursday, when light rain is expected.The rain is due to ease up at around 2pm, the Met Office has forecast.Flood alerts.
